This page is dedicated to our recommended travel destinations to take before or after the wedding. These are places we’ve both travelled to and are very fond of. This page will be updated throughout the following months.
Milan
I’d recommended doing the Duomo rooftops early in the morning. It is beautiful at sunrise time and less crowded for wonderful pics! Enjoy a walk through the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II just nearby. If you like Campari, there is a place called Camparino in the Galleria. Enjoy!
The Last Supper by Da Vinci is a must museum in Milan – but you’ll need advance reservations for this one.
Verona
The land of Romeo and Juliet. Go see the balcony. It’s cuteeee.
I recommend that you go see an Opera at the Arena di Verona. It’s truly magical to sit in the coliseum at night and watch an opera! We saw Tosca, a love story that unfolds in 19th century Rome.
If you’re hungry, look no further than Antica Bottegga del Vino – hope you’re ready for the most extensive wine list I’ve ever seen. The book menu is heavyyy! The Risotto Amarone is as delicious as they say.
Venice
We were lucky to come during Carnival in February, so you’ll see some of our costumes. Of course, we did Assassin’s Creed! The gondola, Doges palace, the bridge of sighs, the rialto bridge, the clock tower and St. Mark’s are absolute musts! Try the black pasta – it’s our favorite and will be an added in as an additional course on our wedding menu 🥰
Cinque Terre The 5 Towns!
Monterosso
Recommend to stay in this town. The beach is divine!! Stunning and so nice for a swim.
If you’ve seen the movie Luca, Porterosso takes their inspiration from this town.
You can do different day hikes through the towns and spend the day.
We did 2 towns per day which was a wonderful pace!
Hotel Baia. Stayed in this small hotel overlooking the beach! Small but with everything I needed. They had reserved beach seating which is the ultimate treat. You can hear all the waves crashing at night soooooo amazing.
Ristorante Al Carugio Monterosso Al Mare - this place - the seafood soup! Also, the jug of house wine, but let’s get back to the seafood soup. Cioppino!there has never been a better one I’ve had. (Although Anthony, your mum’s is definitely second.)
Torre Aurora Mare Cucina & Cocktails - make a sunset romantic dinner or enjoy some cocktails here. it’s spectacular 🥰
Corniglia
Corniglia is located in the heart of the Cinque Terre National Park on a small cape, 100 meters above the sea. It is the smallest of the five villages and also the least accessible.
If you go to Corniglia, start there if you’re walking otherwise you’ll be going uphill! So, take the train to Corniglia and then walk to Vernazza.
Bar Il Gabbiano - you’ll gonna need this midhike stop at the top of the hike between Corniglia and Vernazza.
Manarola
La Regina di Manarola - the best Italian Pizza I have ever had in my life! This one 😍😳. I’ve never bought a shirt from a restaurant – not only are these soooo cute in light blue and baby pink but they come in a beautiful pizza box for storage.
Nessun Dorma - It can be complicated to get a reservation here but it is worth it for the sunset views 🥰 and if you dont get a reservation, just walk up the path and stop along the way for the view!
Riomaggiore
Tutti Frutti - Everything in a cone! The anchioves! Yes! The calamari! Yes!
Don’t forget to head down to the rocks for that iconic picture with the beautiful colors!
Rio Bistrot – If you can score a table in the middle like this at this Michelin restaurant for a wonderful lunch.
Bar e Vini a Pie de Ma – Cocktails with an incredible view!
Vernazza
This is where you get that famous photo all the way at the top! Incredible.
Gelateria Vernazza - yummy 🤤
