Villa del Balbianello, Lenno

I was watching the Star Wars movie with my now maid of honor Rachel, when the scene comes on where Anakin marries Padme. I just thought that was the most beautiful scenery in the world. Granted, I love beaches and castles and almost everywhere I’ve been….but there is something about Villa del Balbianello’s design that is just extraordinary. The mountains in the back frame the lake for the stunning architecture of the arches and the villa.

The villa is part of the FAI Italian National Trust. The last owner was Count Guido Monzino, an Italian explorer who wanted to open his home to be an adventurer’s museum.

Ceremony

5:00 PM

Meet at Lenno at 4:30pm to take the boat taxi to the Villa del Balbianello. The ceremony and reception will be held at the same location at the Villa until 11:50pm where we will board a boat taxi back to Lenno.

Dress Attire

Gentlemen: Black tie or suits

Reception

The reception will continue after the ceremony at a spot overlooking the estate. Catering will be provided by Sunlake, a premiere catering service in the region. Expect Italian cuisine, open bar, and DJ service with dance floor.
